UUSA Bowling Repair Specialist
Serves as the bowling operations repair and maintenance specialist for the BreakZONE Recreation Center’s bowling area
UUSA Lead Recreation Assistant*
Directs and organizes several types of recreation programs, including leagues and tournaments. Serves as a group team leader and training assistant for members of the Recreation Assistant staff. Team leadership includes monitoring and coordinating a weekend closing team and assuring team dependability. Leaders are expected to demonstrate leadership skills and serve as examples to the recreation assistant crew in all employment aspects. Assumes responsibility for programmatic marketing, event promotions, and administrative projects as directed by the Recreation Center Manager.

Production
UUSA Production Technician I
The Production Technician is an entry-level position in the Production Services Office. This position will support events in Squires Student Center, Burruss Auditorium, and other locations across the Virginia Tech Campus. As an entry-level position, the technician is exposed to basic sound reinforcement principles and basic system operation (lighting and sound), and will work under the leadership of the Production Technician II and Technical Supervisors to learn the skills necessary for moving into the next-level position.
Operations
UUSA Student Building Manager*
The Squires Student Building Manager (SBM) is a prominent position among University Unions student employees, and is hailed as an invaluable senior experience. Building Managers have the ultimate responsibility for the smooth, efficient operations of Squires Student Center and its employees during the assigned evening and weekend shifts. The SBM must exhibit exceptional leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, accountability and the ability to supervise and delegate successfully. Student Building Managers must exercise sound judgment and exhibit a professional image at all times.
UUSA Operations Team
Operations Team maintains the cleanliness of the Squires Student Center during their shifts, including public space, reserved spaces, the BreakZONE, and restrooms. The team utilizes leadership skills ranging from time management and delegation to stay organize and complete multiple tasks that may have time implications. The team must prioritize tasks during the course of their shifts while working independently. Ultimately the ability to operate in the team setting will ensure the success of the Operations Staff of UUSA as a whole.

The Operations Lead is an integral part of the continuous efficient operation of Squires Student Center. As a student leader, the Operations Lead’s primary responsibility is meeting space setups and restorations. They also provide support to UUSA staff and customers in response to requests or any unanticipated needs as well as support to security concerns for Squires facility and equipment.

Maintenence
UUSA Facilities Assistant
The Facilities Assistant will perform preventive maintenance tasks throughout UUSA facilities: Squires and Johnston Student Centers, Chapel, and Graduate Life Center, and will also assist the UUSA Maintenance Staff will various projects in both Student Centers.

The Facilities Assistant Team Leader is responsible for the direct daily supervision and on-going scheduling of three to four Facilities Assistants. The Front of House Assistant position is critical to patron safety and assists staff in creating a positive experience for the attendees of cultural, social, and educational programs in Burruss Auditorium at Virginia Tech.

UUSA Chapel Services Assistant
The Chapel Services Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean and presentable environment within and around the Chapel grounds. The CSA will also contribute to providing a customer-oriented atmosphere and must have the ability to work under minimal supervision at times.
UUSA Chapel Services Specialist*
The Chapel Services Specialist will contribute to providing a customer-oriented atmosphere. Recognizing the Chapel customers as the first priority, the Specialist must be capable of assisting customers in a professional, courteous, and effective manner and demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision as needed. Knowledge of basic website maintenance is helpful, but not mandatory. The Chapel Services Specialist holds a leadership position in UUSA and participates in professional development and student leadership opportunities.

UUSA Art Gallery Attendant
Gallery attendants serve as public relations and security personnel for University Unions and Student Activities’ Perspective Gallery.
Ticket Office
UUSA Ticket Office Attendant
Selected applicants process season ticket orders for VTU and Lively Arts series and the School of the Arts series, sell single ticket orders via mail, phone, and over-the-counter. The TOA distributes literature to patrons, and answers questions about shows and events. Other than selling tickets, the top priority of the Ticket Office Attendant is customer service.
Off-Campus Housing
UUSA Off Campus Housing Office Assistant
The Off Campus Housing Assistant serves as an information source to customers using Virginia Tech Off Campus Housing Services. The Assistant maintains the office supply of information, updates the bulletin board, and assists with the VTOCH marketing efforts. This position also plays a major role in implementing two housing fairs through planning, organizing, and marketing.

Johnston Student Center
UUSA Assistant Building Supervisor (ABS)
ABS’s must be capable of assisting customers with a multitude of information-related services in a swift, professional, courteous, and effective manner. Student employees serve as a representative of the department and their behavior should reflect that awareness. ABS’s must have the ability to work unsupervised, be customer service orientated, and be able to lift up to 60 pounds. The Assistant Building Supervisor is supervised by the JSC Manager. In the absence of the JSC Manager, the CSA will be supervised by the Service Assistant/Lead Housekeeper. Guidance is provide to the ABS’s by the Assistant Building Supervisor Team Leader
UUSA Facility Management Assistant (FMA)
The primary focus for the position of Facility Management Assistant is to provide a neat, clean appearance of the facility and respond to service requests from those who use the building. FMA’s must be customer service orientated and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

UUSA Administrative Office Assistant
The purpose of this position is to assist the administrative support staff with supervising and supporting the operational aspects of the Administrative Offices of UUSA. Departmental support may include assisting students, university public, and faculty/staff both internal and external. Additionally, this position assists with handling departmental and organizational mail and communications while collecting and recording various forms for office operations. Office Assistants may be assigned projects by the Administrative Office Manager for staff in the Administrative Office or within University Unions. Projects may be confidential in nature and must be respected as such.
Student Activities
UUSA Lead Student Activities Office Assistant
There will be one Lead Office Assistant supervising two to three Office Assistants responsible for collecting and scheduling times to work in the Department of Student Activities each week for all Student Assistants. This student will be responsible for making the schedule. They will submit to staff “recommendations” as to hiring and disciplinary actions for the positions he/she supervises. Responsible for receiving projects from the Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, or faculty/staff of Student Activities and delegating these as seen fit. Reporting to the supervisor any and all problems or opportunities with students they supervise. This position was created as a learning tool for deserving students and is given to students who have already held a position in Student Activities for a semester or more. Departmental support may include assisting students, university public, and faculty/staff both internal and external. Additionally, the job exists for handling departmental and organizational mail and communications while collecting and recording various forms for office operations. Office Assistants will help interpret student organization policies, procedures, and relevant award notifications to various student organizations.

Accountable for the placement of all requested equipment in reservable spaces in Squires Student Center and the Graduate Life Center at Donaldson Brown. Utilizing a computerized reservations system and other relevant documents, will plan and execute setups, break down setups, and promptly return all equipment to the appropriate storage area after use. Also, maintain equipment consisting of, but limited to chairs, tables, risers, and audio visual equipment. Event Operations Setup Staff will also provide assistance to Event Operations management as requested to perform any additional duties. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting inventories and banner hanging.

The GLC Graduate Information Associate works closely with the GLC Operations Manager to provide services to the university customers who use the Graduate Life Center. This includes providing excellent customer services, oversight of the information desk, administrative support, marketing, and clerical duties.

The GLC Graduate Services Associate works closely with the GLC Operations Manager to provide services to the university customers who use the Graduate Life Center. The Graduate Service Associate also acts as the evening and weekend Operations Manager. This includes providing excellent customer services, responsibility for event services, administrative support, cleaning, and special project support.
