The goals of Cook Counseling Center Peer Assistance for Learning (PAL) program are:
- To facilitate, coordinate, and advise students to become peer assistants using the train-the-trainer model.
- To establish a standard of training for peer assistance for learning that insures quality presentation of study skills and orientation to center’s services.
- To promote the personal growth of peer assistants for learning through professional development, recognition, and group interactions.
- To empower students with knowledge and skills to help them become successful independent learners so they can reach their educational goals.
- To offer informative and interactive programs that will motivate students to assume responsibility for their own learning and to use campus resources.
