Scott Reed

Scott Reed is currently serving as Senior Associate Director for Operations & Services with University Unions at Virginia Tech. His current role involves oversight for services, operations, and facility management needs for four student center buildings. Additionally, he oversees budgets, recreation centers, leadership development, and numerous personnel and administrative responsibilities.

Scott received his B.A. in Sports Management from Western Carolina University and his M.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports & Recreation Management from James Madison University.  He is a long time member of the Association of College Unions International as well as the State of Virginia’s Commonwealth Management Association.

In addition to his years of service in the Union at Virginia Tech, he has given numerous conference presentations and served for a year as interim co-director of University Unions.  He also serves on the ACUI Regional Leadership and recently received the Region’s Exemplary Service & Dedication award.
A native of southwest Virginia, he is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys numerous outdoor recreation activities.  His hobbies and interests include landscaping projects, dogs, travel, and volunteering in several civic organizations.
