Sandy Broughton

Sandra Siemens Broughton is Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications for UUSA at Virginia Tech.  In that position she manages all marketing, communications, graphic design, publications, and public relations functions of UUSA.  In addition, she oversees UUSA Web Communications, UUSA Art Programs and the Perspective Gallery, and Virginia Tech Off –Campus Housing (VTOCH).   She has held this position since July 2007.

Prior to her current position at Virginia Tech, Broughton was Corporate Communications Manager for Blue Ridge Public Television for seven years.  She worked at Virginia Tech from 1990 to 2000 in University Relations and for Hollins University from 1986 to 1990 as Information Director.  Broughton began her career as a radio personality and news director and also worked at The Roanoke Times as a news reporter.  She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, minor in philosophy.
