Ana Barrenchea

Ana Barrenechea serves as the Assistant Director of Leadership Development Programs in University Unions & Student Activities.  In this role, she is responsible for implementing the leadership seminar series (SPLASH), developing new leadership initiatives and programs for student organizations, and coordinating the Who’s Who and University Student Leadership Awards selection processes.  She also serves as the advisor to the undergraduate Student Government Association (SGA).

Ana received a B.A. (Government & Politics and Anthropology) from the University of Maryland and a M.A.Ed (Higher Education & Student Affairs) from Virginia Tech.  While at Virginia Tech, Ana served as the Graduate Advisor for the Virginia Tech.  Prior to joining the UUSA staff, Ana served as the Assistant Director for Student Activities at UVA-Wise, and most recently as the Assistant Director for Programming at George Mason University.  Ana is also involved with the National Association for Campus Activities, having most recently served as a Leadership Fellow.

Ana is originally from Lima, Peru but grew up outside of Annapolis, Maryland.  When not in Squires, Ana enjoys spending her free time exploring the local area, going to the gym, traveling, and checking out new restaurants.
