Outdoor Adventures

Venture Out specializes in low risk outdoor adventures that require little to no experience to participate. Typical adventures include backpacking, camping, canoeing, caving, downhill skiing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. Adventures also include skill training, outdoor education workshops, and many other outdoor programs. Trips include transportation, experienced outdoor leadership, and necessary safety instruction.

Outside Magazine named Blacksburg one of the top ten places to live in the U.S., praising the area's hiking, biking, whitewater rafting and climbing. "Despite the high-tech influence, Blacksburg's setting in the New River Valley is as unpretentious as its inhabitants: an un-crowded ground zero for backpackers, boaters, climbers and cyclists -- with a cost of living sharply discounted from that of many towns so topographically blessed." – Outside Magazine 2001
