Venture Out is a program of University Unions and Student Activities Recreation Services. Venture Out offers fun, safe, and, educational outdoor services to the students, faculty, staff, and the community of Virginia Tech. We specialize in low risk outdoor adventures, quality rentals of outdoor gear at unbeatable rates, and valuable resources to help you plan your next adventure. Venture Out complements academics through the education of mind, body, and spirit.
Outdoor Adventures: Venture Out specializes in outdoor adventure trips that require little to no experience to participate. Typical adventures include backpacking, camping, canoeing, caving, downhill skiing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. Trips include transportation, experienced outdoor leadership, and necessary safety instruction.
Equipment Rental Center: Planning an outdoor adventure? The Venture Out Equipment Rental Center can provide you with everything you need to make your next trip a success --camping gear, tents, sleeping bags, ground pads, backpacks, canoes, stoves, outdoor games and more.
Outdoor Resource Center: Let Venture Out be your link to the outdoors. We have a variety of maps and information on hiking, backpacking, and camping in the New River Valley, Virginia State Parks, and National Forests.
Venture Out Trip Leader Training: Being a Venture Out leader is about helping others discover the great outdoors. The Venture Out Trip Leader Training Program offers a formal training program that focuses on outdoor leadership, safety, and adventure skills.
