All performances are held in Burruss Auditorium, located in Burruss Hall.  Showtime for all events is 7:30pm with doors opening at 7pm.

An Dochas and the Haran Irish Dancers
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Presenting traditional Irish music and dance fused with rock and folk, An Dochas provides a contemporary twist to the traditions of Ireland.  Performing for over a decade, An Dochas and the Haran Irish Dancers have traveled all over the world, including the Irish Step Dancing World Championships. Studying under Michael Londra, former lead singer of “Riverdance” on Broadway, An Dochas is sure to be an evening to remember!

1964: The Tribute, The #1 Beatles Tribute Band in the World

Join the Virginia Tech community as we celebrate Family Weekend 2008 with an amazing tribute to the Fab Four. Named by Rollingstone Magazine as the #1 Beatles Tribute Show and acclaimed by Dick Clark as “still the best Beatles show out there today,” 1964: The Tribute will thrill both those who saw and those who wish they could have seen the Beatles’ invasion of America. Step Afrika

“From Appalachia to South Africa, Stepping from Gumboot to Zulu,” Step Afrika runs the gambit of cultural influences. Come see the rising step act that The Washington Post describes as “always visually and musically exciting,” and  “electrifying.” Their mesmerizing rhythms and collaged choreography collaborate to create a seamless continuum of cultures. Come accompany us in commemorating this cross cultural dance company. 

To Kill a Mockingbird

Since its publication in 1960, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird has gripped the minds of American readers. This story of the racial injustices in the South has traversed most of the imaginable media, including both film and stage performances, and has received great critical acclaim, including the 1964 Pulitzer Prize for literature. Come join VTU in welcoming back the Montana Repertory Theatre as they recreate the classic tale of Atticus Finch, Boo Radley, and Scout in the stage production of To Kill a Mockingbird.

  • Orders are filled in the order received by the UUSA Ticket Office. 
  • To sit with friends or relatives, please enclose all orders in the same envelope.
  • Orders placed after September 11th, 2008 may be picked up at the UUSA Ticket Office or at the “Will Call” table in the Burruss lobby at the first event.
  • All sales are final.  The UUSA Ticket Office does not issue refunds on tickets, except

in the event of a show cancellation.

Ticket Sales Schedule

  • Box office reopens Wednesday, August 8th, with new season ticket orders to begin
  • Single ticket sales for all performances will begin Wednesday, September 5th .
  • Season ticket orders will be mailed beginning Tuesday, September 4th .
  • Season ticket sales will end at 6 pm, Tuesday, September 18th .

The mysteries of young love amidst the grit of life.  This highly visual and compellingly sensual play is set in the American Depression of the 1930’s.  The story is small town rural heartbreak that haunts survivors for generations.  Two teenagers explore the edges of sexuality and death as they race against the 7:10 train at Pope Lick Creek.  Directed by Bob Leonard.
