Can I purchase tickets to campus events on the Internet?
Yes. Tickets may be purchased by visiting either the web site for the Ticket Office (www.tickets.vt.edu) or Tickets.com (www.tickets.com). When ordering online, in addition to the price of the ticket, patrons will be assessed a $2.00 order fee and a per ticket fee ranging from $1.50-$3.50. May I exchange tickets?
Yes, but only for select shows. In years past, the Ticket Office has not been able to allow for an exchange transaction. The Ticket Office is pleased to announce we will allow exchanges for Theatre Arts performances and VTU Lively Arts shows for only $3.00. For example, you have a ticket for the Tuesday night show of a Theatre Arts play, but now you are unable to attend. You may ex-change that ticket for another night. In another example, you have a ticket for a Lively Arts show and at the last minute your family is coming down to visit and would like to go too, but there are no available seats around you. You may exchange your ticket for another seat within the venue where seating is available for your family.

Will I be able to select specific seats if I order them over the telephone?

What can I do if I purchased a Tech student ticket, but a non-student will now use the ticket?
You should bring the ticket to the event and have it revalidated by one of our attendants. You will need to pay the difference between the student and non-student prices. A revalidation sticker will be placed on the back of the ticket. This will allow an individual without a student I.D. into the venue.

Why was there a $4.00 fee accessed when I purchased tickets via the telephone?
This fee is used to offset a portion of the costs associated with processing and mailing tickets (when possible) to our telephone customers. We are pleased that we have been able to keep the fee very low and to a per order basis rather than a $4 fee for each ticket.

Will I need Tech ID's from each person to purchase tickets for other Tech students?

Where is the best place to park for events held in Squires Student Center? Burruss Hall Auditorium?
If you are attending an event held in Squires Student Center, we suggest that you try the parking lot just across the street from the student center. It is divided into various permit types - F/S, Commuter, Graduate - and meters (see map and please observe all posted parking signs). Weekdays before 5:00 p.m., those with the proper permit may park in those designated spaces. No permit is required to use the lot after 5:00 p.m. M - F or any time on weekends. The Media parking lot may also be used M - F after 5:00 p.m. and any time on weekends. The entrance to this lot is located on Otey Street next to the Architecture Annex. Another option is to use the parking lot next to Shultz Dining Hall. This lot can be accessed from Main Street and the Alumni Mall near the main entrance to campus and is accessible M - F after 5:00 p.m. and any time on weekends.

For events in Burruss Auditorium, we suggest that you park in the large commuter lot located on the corner of West Campus Drive and Perry Street. The auditorium is easily accessible from this lot by walking between Cowgill and Derring Halls. Walk approximately a hundred yards to the front entrance to the building.

A visitor pass is needed for parking around the Drillfield until 8:00 p.m. weekdays. If you arrive on campus before 5:00 p.m., please pick up a free visitor pass from the Visitor Information Center, which is located on Southgate Drive. After 5:00 p.m., please go to the Campus Police Station, which is located at the end of Maintenance Road. (Third left turn on Southgate Drive as you come from the 460 bypass.)

Please observe and obey all traffic and parking regulations while driving on campus. If you have specific questions regarding parking, please contact Parking Services at 231-3200.

How are concerts scheduled and how would I find out about them?
The Virginia Tech Union Concerts committee and the Black Student Alliance are primarily responsible for bringing popular bands to campus. They are staffed by students and a faculty advisor. The band's cost, popularity, and availability are all considered when determining which groups actually end up performing on campus.

Once a band has been identified, an offer is submitted. The offer is then either accepted, rejected, or the band's management makes a counter offer. The entire process could take months to materialize; therefore, no more than one or two concerts are scheduled at any given time.

Once concerts are scheduled, the sponsoring organization will use the Collegiate Times, posters, flyers, and their web page to promote and market the event. Please contact the committee at 231-7117 for additional information regarding concerts.

When do tickets go on sale on the Internet for major concerts?
On the first day of sales for a major concert, tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m., unless otherwise noted. A good piece of advice is to go ahead and set up your account information at www.tickets.com before tickets go on sale. This will help expedite your purchase, which in turn, may lead to better seating.

Why can't I use my local address when ordering tickets online and how do I prevent those tickets from being mailed to my permanent address?
You must enter in the address that corresponds to the billing address of the credit card you are using to purchase your tickets. If that address (i.e. permanent/home) is different than your local (i.e. school) address, then you must notify the Ticket Office immediately with your request to mail them to your local address. We also can hold your tickets for you to pick up at the Ticket Office during our hours of operation. To notify the Ticket Office, please call (540) 231-5615, stating that you do not want your tickets mailed to the address on your order or, immediately after you receive your ticket purchase email confirmation, forward it to uusatickets@vt.edu with "HOLD TICKETS" in the subject line.
