International Student or Teacher ID Cards

Any student who is enrolled full time is eligible to purchase an International Student Identity Card. Any teacher who is currently teaching at the time of application is eligible for a Teacher Identity Card. The International Student and Teacher Identity Cards provide traveling students/teachers everywhere with a single uniform document that is accepted around the world as proof of student/teacher status.

Student organizations, national governments, and international organizations officially endorse it. The card offers such advantages as discounts to museums, theaters, air, rail or bus services, and discounts at hotels and shops. There is a small amount of life and health insurance that comes with the card. To receive a card you will need to do the following:

1. Complete an application.
2. Bring a passport size photograph for the card.
3. The cost is $22 (cash or check only).
4. Make your check payable to Treasurer, Virginia Tech.
5. An extra $1.00 if it's to be mailed back to you.
6. Proof that you are currently a full time student or a teacher.

Hostel Passes

Students or Non-students can purchase a Hostel Pass. The Hostel Card offers access to inexpensive accommodations throughout the world. Hostels offer an array of services depending on their size. To get a Hostel Card you must do the following:

1. Complete an application.
2. The cost is $30 (cash or check only).
3. Make your check payable to Treasurer, Virginia Tech.
4. An extra $1 if it's to be mailed back to you.
