More Detailed Directions

From I-81:

If you are traveling on I-81 going north or southbound, you will take exit 118. There are three separate exits (A,B, and C) off of exit 118. Once you enter the section for those exits, you will take exit 118 B. From the exit ramp you will merge onto route 460 west. You can then follow one of the following direction options:

ATTENTION: The Virginia Tech main entrance from Route 460 will be closed during the duration of the summer. Please see alternate directions below.

If you would like the scenic route through campus:

You will stay on 460 west (do not take 460 Business) toward Bluefield, WV. You will reach a stop light at the main entrance to the Virginia Tech campus and will drive straight through it. You will take your next exit on your right to Price’s Fork Rd./Downtown. Merge left off of the exit ramp and stay in the right lane. You will drive through one stoplight (at the entrance to the Inn and Virginia Tech) and will take your next right at a stoplight onto West Campus Dr. Follow West Campus Dr. until you reach Drillfield Dr. on your left. Turn left onto Drillfield Dr. and follow the road along the Drillfield in the center of campus. You will see the War Memorial Chapel at the end of the Drillfield (to your left). When you reach the stone pylons on top of the Chapel, you will turn right onto the Alumni Mall. You will pass by Squires on your right. Follow the Alumni Mall to the end where it reaches Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street and take another immediate right at the stoplight onto College Ave. Follow College Ave past Squires (on your right again), and around a sharp left curve. You will pass the Graduate life Center on your right as well and take the next left after the GLC into the gated parking lot. There will be someone stationed there to give you a visitor pass and to let you through the gate. Once you park your car you can walk over to the main entrance of Squires on College Ave. 

If you would rather take a more direct route through downtown Blacksburg:

You will stay on 460 west (do not take 460 Business) toward Bluefield, WV until you reach exit 5A. Take that exit and you will stay to the left on the exit toward S. Main Street. You will merge to your left from the exit onto S. Main Street. You will continue on S. Main Street, and will pass through seven stoplights on your way. Once you get onto S. Main Street, you will also pass by a Hess gas station on your right, a Kroger on your left, several houses and apartment buildings, a large parking garage on your left, and the downtown area, respectively. Once you approach the eighth stoplight, you will turn left onto College Ave. Follow College Ave past Squires (on your right), and around a sharp left curve. You will pass the Graduate life Center on your right as well and take the next left after the GLC into the gated parking lot. There will be someone stationed there to give you a visitor pass and to let you through the gate. Once you park your car you can walk over to the main entrance of Squires on College Ave. 

If you are coming to Tech via Route 460:

You will continue on 460 east until you reach an exit for Price’s Fork Rd. on your right. Take the exit and turn left off of the exit onto Price’s Fork Rd. You will drive over a bridge and then through one stoplight (at the entrance to the Inn and Virginia Tech). You will take your next right at a stoplight onto West Campus Dr. Follow West Campus Dr. until you reach Drillfield Dr. on your left. Turn left onto Drillfield Dr. and follow the road along the Drillfield in the center of campus. You will see the War Memorial Chapel at the end of the Drillfield (to your left).
