Hokie Bird with International FlagsThe Cranwell International Center assists all international visitors in adjusting to life in the Virginia Tech community.   We invite you to visit the Cranwell International Center as often as necessary to receive a variety of information about community issues, things to do, the Town of Blacksburg, and a variety of services.

The Cranwell International Center coordinates with the Y at VT to provide a variety of services and programs for spouses who are accompanying students or scholars to Virginia Tech.  These services include Mornings, English Conversation classes, and Orientations.  There are other classes which offer English lessons through the Adult Education Program of Montgomery Public Schools.  The staff at the Cranwell International Center is always available to assist with the issues or problems of any international spouse.

The Cranwell International Center also offers assistance with public services.  Officials from the Social Security Administration visit on a regular basis and the CIC staff will be happy to assist eligible internationals to receive a Social Security Number or a Drivers License.

International families can be assisted with registering in Montgomery Public Schools, finding health services including Montgomery County Health Department, and locating child care and recreational activities.  All dependents must have health and accident insurance.

The Cranwell International Center encourages interchange between international students and individuals and families in Montgomery County through the International Friendship Program.
